Stawell Biarri Group for Genealogy
Stawell Biarri Group for Genealogy Inc was formed in 1987.
Biarri is an Aboriginal word meaning “to search or hunt”
Our Aim is to assist people to find information about their ancestors from Stawell and District.
We are located in the Family History Room at the Stawell library in Sloane St Stawell.
We have a collection of family histories and books on the history of Stawell which are available to consult.
Our members do undertake research for others for a fee.
Members are available to assist with your research on
Wednesday Afternoons from 2pm -4pm. And on Saturday mornings 10 am til 12 pm.
Our records include
Pleasant Creek Cemetery, some school and church records and some from the local newspaper.

Research by us
Initially $20 .00 is required which
will cover the first 2 hours.
- Then $ 10.00 per hour for further hours.
- Photocopying - 20 cents per A4 page
- Computer printouts 20cents per page
- Photocopies of certificates $5.00
- Photos of headstones or graves $2.00
